This was taken on february 2015, around 2pm I think, was pretty hot that day.Lighting
I wasn't planning to photograph insects that day so I didn't have my flash with me, fortunately the sky was clear and I got plenty of sunlight for the shot.Equipment
I used a Canon 70D with a Sigma 150mm f/2.8, handheld, no flash.Inspiration
I love macro photography since I was a kid, when I saw this dragonfly flying around, I had to shoot it. Unfortunately it was completely unexpected and I had little time to setup and the sun was scorching hot but I managed to photograph it and to this day this is the photo I'm most proud of.Editing
Only color correction and noise reduction was done on this shot.In my camera bag
Depends on what I plan to shoot, but i usually have a speedlite, my 150mm and a 18-35 along with my camera.Feedback
Pay attention to your surroundings and always have your camera with you, never know when you'll be given a chance like this.
