Male Long-tailed duck floating serenely on water - Pachydiplax longipennis - Photo by Robson Smith
- This was in a very early spring day at the Toronto waterfront by the Billy Bishop Airport. Robson was photographing these wonderful Long-tailed ducks who were very active feeding and flying.
However this Male Long-tailed duck was captured in a split second whilst it was flapping it's wings very very quickly. At 1200th of a second was still not quite fast enough to capture the near-sided wing without motion blur. However it still is a fun moment to enjoy and was taken by Robson from around 50 feet away...
