We came across this fox while driving the Kancamagus Scenic Drive in New Hampshire in 2014...he was running along the side of the highway...we pulled over and he came and sat on the snow bank next to us...I think he was looking for food.

Really wish there was a chance to give a second prize in my iPhone challenge as this would have been the one - so hard to choose the winner and so very close

Thank you...that means a lot to me! This is the photo that sparked my interest in photography...a pic that was taken very quickly with little thought put into the shot because the fox just came over and I was expecting him to run off before I get a shot...couldn't get to my camera so i just snapped it with my phone!

Location
This photo was taken in New Hampshire...we were driving the Kancamagus Scenic Highway in White Mountains area near North Conway.Time
Around the middle of the day is when it was taken ...just after lunch.Lighting
The lighting was particularly good and the fox sitting on snow probably helped to bounce a nice light as well.Equipment
The funny thing about this photo is that I had no time to grab my camera from the boot so I quickly snapped it on my old Iphone 4.Inspiration
This is my favourite photo of all my photos because it sparked my interest in photography! Being in the North Conway/White Mountains area we purposely went on a scenic drive in the hope of seeing some wildlife. We saw a car pulled over on the other side of the highway & thought there must have been something around so we pulled over as well. There was a fox wandering around and he crossed the highway and came over to us and just sat on the snowbank very patiently waiting, posing for me beautifully...I was expecting him to run off any minute so I just snapped a couple of pics with my Iphone 4...I didn't want to get out of the car to get my camera from the boot in case I scared him off... we suspect that he was looking for food and it wasn't the first time he'd done this as he was in very good condition.Editing
Nothing elaborate about the post processing for this pic...sharpened, cropped and a little contrast... this was the very beginning of my learning curve in photography, at that stage I didn't have any idea about post processing. In my camera bag
These days I always carry 2 spare batteries, a cleaning cloth for my lens and a mini tripod.Feedback
The only advice I could give is when embarking on a scenic drive to always have your camera close by...I would love to be able to go back to that moment now and take some photos of that beautiful fox with my camera rather than my old Iphone 4.
