Location
This photograph was taken at a national museum in Lebanon (Mleeta) that is named after and located in a village that sits on the top of a high mountain. This was the first of many beautiful pictures I took during my trip. It actually inspired me to further develop my skills in photography and as part of doing so, I joined the viewbug community to share my photos and learn more from other photographers.Time
The summers in Lebanon can be very hot and humid so, upon experiencing one of the more intense days, my family and I decided to visit this museum since it was situated so high above sea level. I remember taking this picture in the garden just after exploring the entire museum. I guess the stories they told and the unique environment of the museum lead me to take this picture as I saw a great meaning behind it. The photo was taken on June 28, 2015 at 12:02 pm.Lighting
There was fog surrounding the area since we were at such a high altitude so that helped control the lighting from the sun. Also, I find that shrubbery gives off excellent lighting and that had a great effect on the photo as the garden had quite a few trees surrounding it.Equipment
I used a Sony DSC-H70, no additional equipment was used.Inspiration
It's funny because I have always found nature to be my inspiration to many things but in this case it was the tour of the museum that inspired me to find meaning in the nature surrounding me. The exhibitions in the museum integrated the nature of the mountain with the history that took place there to communicate a powerful message of peace and unity. I found that message in this photograph and I love that the art of photography can capture moments like that and echo timeless messages like this.Editing
No, I loved this picture the moment I took it especially because it is just as it appeared in front of me and in this way it represents the symbolic idea of naturally inspiring diversity. In my camera bag
I like to travel light when I visit new places so that I could reach those tight spots where the angle or the view is best. At the moment, I carry my Sony DSC-H70 wherever I go.Feedback
Be creative and look at the world as if you are looking at a painting; with appreciation for the little things because they make up the bigger picture. Additionally, adjusting the aperture can really change the way you and others will see your photograph so strongly consider what it is that you want to draw attention to.
