I took this photo in my garden, I was experimenting with close ups and really wanted to try and catch a photo of a bee as they were everywhere but are small and move very quickly. I managed to catch this amazing shot before it flew away!Time
It was taken in the mid afternoon as the sun was shining on everything and creating a golden glow, this helped get the clarity of the bee as the lighting was perfect.Lighting
I wanted to be able to see the detail of the bee as much as possible, I am a self taught photographer and do it as a hobby, so I don't have the latest high tech equipment to assist me so I have to rely on the environment. Since this was taken in the mid afternoon, the sun was strong and able to light up the whole image which was fantastic.Equipment
This shot was taken on my Nikon Coolpix AW110. I did not use any other equipment or flash, I just sat there patiently unit I was able to capture the shot I wanted.Inspiration
I was intrigued by the bees as they were everywhere in my garden but moved so fast it was hard to take a picture. Combined with my love of macro and close up photography, I decided to try and get a shot of a bee collecting pollen on a small flower. Using only my camera I was very lucky to get a photo that turned out the way it did!Editing
I wanted to share this image to my Instagram and used one of their filters to bring out the colours of the image.In my camera bag
The only camera I own is my Nikon Coolpix, it is a hardy camera that I can and do take everywhere! I also use my Samsung Galaxy S7 if I'm out and about and forgot my camera, it can take reasonably good photos for a phone which I like.Feedback
It doesn't matter if you don't have the newest camera or the latest equipment, all you need is the inspiration and determination to take the photo you want. I sat there for hours in the sun waiting for the right moment, it took a while but I was determined to get it. Be patient and keep at it, you'll get there.
