It was a bright, sunny day, which meant that there was a variation between direct bright sunlight and shadowy areas from other small branches. In my view, this provided a better image than if the blossoms were just completely in bright sunlight.Equipment

I have found that when trying to get good close-ups of blossoms or flowers, there are surprisingly few that look really good and in near-perfect shape. So it is always worth looking carefully for the best presentations of whatever flower or blossom you are trying to take photos of.
