Location
This image was taken in city centre cape town South Africa. between the busy streets is a water way to relax and enjoy some time away from the office.Time
this image was taken during my tea time morning walks in town. During the day i take a walk through town just too look at things a different way and sometimes take photos. People tend to fly by and not notice things.Lighting
i try to take pics when the light is soft. either in the morning or evening. i call it magic light.Equipment
it was taken with with my Sony Xperia Z1 phone.Inspiration
the light hit the trees and the water in such a perfect way that caused the reflections in the water..Editing
i had to because it was taken in two segments to get the trees and reflections. just contrast and stitching in photoshop, the phone did everything else.In my camera bag
in my bag i have a Nikon D3200, nikon 28mm F2.8 D prime, Nikkor AF 35-70mm F2.8 D and a Nikon Kit lens 55-200mm. some times i swop the 35-70mm for my favourite lens Nikon 24-85mm F2.8 D. The lenses are all old FX lenses but they work like a dream on my little D3200, Only drawback is the manual focus. I am how ever in the process buying a nikon FX camera.Feedback
Advice? mmmm slow down look at things from all angles. also imagine in your head what you would like to see and go find it. I read somewhere it doesnt matter what equipment you have as long as you get the shot. a lot of my images were taken with my Sony Xperia Z1 and they look awesome. yes the right camera would always take better pictures but you dont always have it with you. i always have my phone with me and these days my camera too,
