Behind The Lens
Location
My wife does a charity event to raise money for rescue pugs. im the assigned photographer for the day.Time
normally the we have to get their early to set up the grounds where the event will be held. Slowly people will start arriving and find their spots around the field. if its a hot day they will try find a big ol tree or bring some shade with them.Lighting
nope. as you can see this is done midday so the light was pretty hard.Equipment
my trusted Nikon D3200 and a kit lens. i tried to get shorter lenses but it fell through so i use the 18-55mm kit lens. the other lens i have is a 200mm old fx lens which i have to do manual focus on for the portraits.Inspiration
i love the effect of the close-up in your face look so the short lens helps. Getting a dog to follow the camera gives the impression of a curious dog trying to chase a toy or a confused dog trying to figure out why this is. when i do this it break the attention away from the owners and get the reaction i needEditing
not really. maybe opened some of the shadows dropped the highlights, added some more color and sharpness but other than that pretty straight forward. In my camera bag
My Nikon D3200 kit lens 18-55 and then a fx lens 24-85 f2.8Feedback
experiment with lenses and positions. some lenses work best at close range and gives you a warped look. for an action shot it looks great. it all depends what you want people to feel when they see the picture
