Thank you very much. See my profile photo? That was taken about the same time this dart/balloon shot was. I was experimenting with using a sound trigger. Essentially having off camera flash set up as well as the camera on a tripod in a dark room. trip the shutter open by remote, then throw the dart at the balloon filled with smoke or powder and hope to hit it. The sound of the exploding balloon triggers the flash because of a sound trigger. The camera shutter times out and closes. all shot against a black background, in the dark and throwing a dart in the dark, while the camera is fixed to a tripod and pre-focused on the hanging balloon. So lots of variables to deal with. There are easier ways depending on your triggering system but that is how I was doing it back then. thanks again for your interest.
