Amazing photo. Great depth of field and composition use. Also for some reason I feel the bugs flying around make it feel even more compelling like I'm actually there. Very nice job.

Location
This photo was taken on a warm Spring evening near Gates Lake in the Fishlake National Forest, Utah. I was out for a ride with my wife and parents looking for wildlife. At first I din't think the shot would turnout due to the heavy glare of the Sun. The end result was a happy surprise.Time
EveningLighting
My shooting position made the lighting a little harsh as I was nearly shooting directly into the Sun, however it being late in the evening mad the contains a little more forgiving.Equipment
Hand held Canon 7D w/ 70-200mm F/2.8 IS lens.Inspiration
The inspiration was my love of the outdoor and the wildlife in it. I wouldn't have shot it had the deer not came out and stopped in front of my lens, so he needs a little credit too.Editing
Yes, in Lightroom. I adjusted white balance, made lens corrections, adjusted highlights, shadows and contrast. In my camera bag
Canon 7D, 7D II, Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 IS, Canon 24-105 F/4 IS, 2x teleconverter, Canon 430 EX flash. I have both a aluminum Manfrotto tripod with a Wimberly Gimbal and a Manfrotto monopod.Feedback
Right place, right time. I can't say enough about spending the necessary time in the outdoors and having the camera ready when the opportunity strikes. I have had several failures trying to get my camera out of the backpack or riding in a box in my ATV or on the backseat of the truck. Now it sits beside me in the truck, on a Spider Holster, ready to shoot when I am out walking/stalking or in a ThinkTank Digital Holster strapped to the roof of my SxS ATV. One unzip and I am ready to fire. Stays clean and has a bump free ride.
