For aficionados: Sir Felix Pole is a fully working, 4-8-0, 4-cylinder, compound-type steam engine, exactly built to scale with 4" gauge. It was built in 1926 (by my grandfather) and it performed at many Model Engineer exhibitions in the UK. It was reported by the Great Western Railway magazine in 1936 that it had hauled about 70,000 passengers even by then, on behalf of various charities. It normally took 12 passengers at a time, but sometimes took up to 17.
This is one of several similar engines of different designs that my grandfather built and that were extensively operated. By the way, his day job was a Bank Manager for the Bank of England!!
More information is available if any enthusiasts would like to know more of the details.
