STRIPED BASILISK (Basiliscus vittatus) Anoles.
The Brown basilisk, Basiliscus vittatus, is an introduced Latin American lizard very well established in parts of Miami-Dade, Florida — and elsewhere on the peninsula. Sometimes commonly referred to as the Jesus Lizard —I suppose for their uncanny speed and ability to run on water for short distances, like Jesus often did— this is a pretty cool-ass lizard to behold in south Florida. If you can get close enough to behold them, that is.
