Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton, Illinois.Time
The photo was taken around 3:30 p.m.Lighting
I used what light was on in the room and the natural lighting from the window which was directed towards my mother.Equipment
Canon EOS T3i with a 18-55mm lens.Inspiration
My mother was a resident and I visited her daily. Many times, she would be in the TV room in the recliner and would be napping. I was taking a beginners photography course and had an assignment on telling a story with photos. I wanted to tell the story of my mother's life with Alzheimers in the nursing home.Editing
I chose to post-process this photo as a black & white photo so I could highlight her natural aging. In my camera bag
I carry my Canon T5i and the following lenses: Canon 18-55mm, Canon 75-300mm, Neewer 0.35x fisheye, Vivitar x wide angle converter with macro, and Vivitar 2.2x telephoto converter. I also have batteries, battery charger, SD cards, enternal flash, and filters.Feedback
Natural light is a great source to light subjects. Don't be afraid to get in close to a shot.
