Location
Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust Wildlife Park in Jersey, they do some great work, this is one of their GorillasTime
Well it was lunchtime for the Gorillas!Lighting
It was an overcast day, but actually quite nice for February, made it pretty easy to avoid shadows.Equipment
A canon 5d mark iii with canon 600mm f4 is ii, which is nearly alway on a manfrotto cf monopod to keep it light (well everything is relative).Inspiration
I liked the composition and the green of the food just added something, like using the long lens to get this sort of portrait type shot.Editing
It really didn't need a lot, crop and sharpen would have been it, but it didn't need much of either. In my camera bag
No such thing as normal, it depends what I'm looking to photograph and how much I want to carry. As well as the kit I used for the picture I had a macro lens, extension tubes, ring flash, 1.4x and 2x teleconverters in the bag.Feedback
You just need to be in the right place at the right time, when you go somewhere like this check when things are going on and make sure you get there for feeding etc animal will be much more active.
