Location
I took the photo on lower Yosemite Falls.Time
Around 2pmLighting
The lighting was perfect the overcast day made it seem I like a soft box !Equipment
I used a Nikon D600 and a Nikon 24-70mm lens 2.8f Tripod by Benro USAInspiration
It was inspired by Ansel AdamsEditing
I got inspired by Ansel Adams I loved some of his images with a lot of contrast and details, for this specific photo I had to use my contract all the way and lower my blacks a lot. I closed my shadows a lot to get more depth of field. In my camera bag
Recently I upgraded to a Sony A7iii with a 28-70mm lens I love the tiny body light weight specially when your hiking a lot, the less bulky gear the better !Feedback
Always make sure you check the weather before to head to any place specially for landscape photography, I drove 4 and a half hr to Yosemite just to see the Yosemite water falls when I arrived it was a little cloudy and cold but I knew it would work perfectly for a moody black and white photo. Use an F-stop between 8-11 to keep everything in focus. I use Manual Mode and shutter speeds may vary depending on the light. Just have fun shooting and be creative when processing to your liking.
