Thank you to all the photographers that shared their best Yellowstone photos showing sceneries or animals in The Beauty Of Yellowstone National Park Photo Contest with chances to win a Canon EOS Rebel T5 (body only) and more!

A special thanks to our friend and professional photographer Rick Sammon for his collaboration as a guest judge. Canon Explorer of Light and award-winning photographer Rick Sammon loves his day job. A tireless, prolific and inspirational image-maker, Rick, called by some “The Godfather of Photography” is one of the most active photographers on the planet; dividing his time between creating images, leading photo workshops, and making personal appearances. Rick’s enthusiasm for digital imaging is contagious. He is a man on a mission - a mission to make digital photography fun, creative, exciting and rewarding for others.

Grand Jury Winner

"I picked this image as the winner for several reasons. First, the photographer, using a slow shutter speed, captured the beauty of the geyser. Second, it was taken by moonlight, with the photographer shooting into the moon. Third, the stars are a beautiful touch to the image. Fourth, I just love the mood and feeling of the image, which is the most important element in a photograph." - Rick Sammon

Amateur Winner

"I like the shallow depth-of- field the photographer used to make the bison in the foreground stand out in the frame. I like the eye-to- eye shooting level, which is something I recommend to my workshop students if they want the viewer of their photograph to relate to the subject. And, I know it’s cold there in winter, so my hat – and scarf and gloves – are off to the photographer." - Rick Sammon

Runner Up

"Back -lit photographs can be tricky, especially when it comes to not overexposing the rim light, which adds a beautiful touch to photograph. The photographer did both an excellent job exposing and composing the photograph. I also like the separation between the two subjects." - Rick Sammon

Runner Up

"Some might say that this shot is a dumb luck shot, complete with a rainbow and nice shadows. I say that luck favors the prepared photographer, especially when the photographer has a good eye for creative composition. Great composition and exposure – and processing!" - Rick Sammon
