Second time there, Jason's rock, mine too. Probably only 2 people have gone to the Fastnet Rock on a standup paddle board by January 2016, the 1st is a guy trying to paddle around Ireland, small sections at a time. Jason was probably the 2nd, that in July 2015.
This was my 1st trip out, i was in a kayak, August 2015, 8 hours paddling, no big rush, 45km, left from Baltimore, passing Sherkin and Cape Clear. I think we were still nearly a Kilometre away when i took this photo, the water was so calm it was ethereal.
Fortunate to visit a place famous for bad weather and ship wrecks on a day like this. Reality wasn't long kicking in tho, the trip back after rounding the Rock involved a bit more effort and balance, but a great trip that will be with me for a long time.
