Behind The Lens

Location

I took the photo in the Milano Flea Market called "Mercatino dell'usato di Porta Genova", that happends the last Sunday of every month.

Time

It was the Chinesse New Year of 2015 at around 3 pm, I went late to the flea market that day, and it was a shame because you have a lot to see there.

Lighting

It was a winter's day, and fortunately the light was a little flat thing that help me to avoid strong shadows.

Equipment

It was shot with my Canon 70D, a Takumar 1.4 50mm lens and two macro lenses attached to the main objective +1 +2

Inspiration

I had experience shooting metal objects and rust, I love the variety of tones and textures you can get from this kind of things. I'm also interested in chaos and I think that to show pieces of clocks not working in harmony has a great visual impact.

Editing

It has a quick pass through Lightroom. I push the contrast and elevated a little the clarity.

In my camera bag

Nowadays I'm going out almost all days with an Olympus XA-II. And when I take out my Canon 70D, I usually go with my Takumar 50mm 1.4 and a Vivitar 100mm 2.8, and the versatile Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, that if it is not a wonderfull objective it can save you at anytime.

Feedback

Sometimes the whole is not interesting, but if you start going closer and closer you can find a new world full of textures, colors and exciting shapes, the closer you get, the more amazing macro photography gets.
