Location
This photo was taken along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk where there are volleyball courts opposite some food and beverage places.Time
Taken about mid-morning on a partly sunny day.Lighting
With a partly cloudy sky there were no shadows so had some choices about exposure and shutter speeds.Equipment
Nikon D7100 with a Nikon 18-105mm lens. Was hand held since pretty close and decent shutter speed.Inspiration
Had recently got the camera and was experimenting with all sorts of picture taking so volleyball action was inspiring. The lady was perfectly posed and the two people in the background added framing.Editing
Yes did a little post processing with cropping and vignette. In my camera bag
Camera is a Nikon D7100 and what I carry depends on the circumstances. Equipment options include 3 lightweight tripods of varying sizes, lenses are 11-16 wide angle, 35, 18-105, 70-200, and 150-600 all with polarizing and UV Haze filters which provide a wide range of choices. I have a flash but have not used it much so far. If just casual shooting then I use the 11-16 or 35 lenses. If after action like motorsports then the telephoto lenses but they can get heavy and are best using a tripod. I have a lightweight Mindshift photo backpack that is so nice when carrying more than just a camera.Feedback
Read and learn about your equipment. For instance the info with the lenses is very helpful, when to use stabilization or not, depth of field, etc. Think about the situation and experiment with various camera settings. I took many shots with various exposure settings before selecting this particular one as the best. These digital cameras let you take lots of pictures and then just delete ones that don't work. So take as many of a situation or opportunity as time permits.
