Location
This was taken in Studley Royal Park, a designated World Heritage Site in North Yorkshire, England. The park includes the ruins of Fountains Abbey, one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in the country.Time
Late afternoon, with the autumn sun low in the sky.Lighting
Natural light, under-exposed.Equipment
Shot with a Nikon D300 and Sigma 18-250 @ 92mm.Inspiration
The way the light fell on the grass and the tree caught my eye, but it was the shapes that made it.Editing
The exposure has been adjusted to create an impression of under-exposure, with minor adjustments to contrast and clarity. In my camera bag
Well, that depends where I am and what I am doing. I'm all Fuji now (X-T1 and X-T10), and will take along some or all of 18-135, 50-230, 100-400, 1.4x teleconverter, 27mm and 8mm fisheye lenses.Feedback
Always shoot raw (or raw + jpg) as this gives far greater scope for reproducing the scene as you remember (or imagine...) it.
