Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a trip i took near Kristiansand, Norway.

Time

It was taken around noon, the 27th november 2015.

Lighting

Natural light, heavy dark clouds while it rained a little.

Equipment

This photo was taken with Canon 750D with a Tamron 18-270mm lens.

Inspiration

There were about 10 highland cattles on a hill, and this one was a little separated on the side from them. i had already taken a couple of photos of all of them, but i wanted to take some of this one too since it stood alone and i liked the way the trees kind of gave it shelter. It was more of a chance really, that i captured this. 'cuz right when i had zoomed in on it, it started to shake off the rain, and this was the first one of 3/4 photos of it shaking the rain off.

Editing

I edited it slightly in camera raw, then i went to photoshop. Added a b&w layer, took the blending mode to "multiply" at 41% opacity. After that i added an exposure layer and adjusted exposure, offset and gamma correction slightly. I added a curves layer and made a tiny s curve only in RGB mode. I thought i was finished so i added a watermark. Then, i found out i wanted to try it as an actual black and white image, so i added a b&w layer, and the result was this photo.

In my camera bag

Canon 550D, Canon 750D, Sigma 105mm f/2.8, Canon 50mm f/1.8, Tamron 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3. I have a flash too but have only used it 2 or 3 times, but it's still in the bag. A wireless timer remote, don't remember the name right now. A lens pen from japan photo. extra battery + charger. 3 memory cards + the one i have in the camera. and usually my mac but that depends on where i'm going etc. Think that was about it. I do have other equipment too but they usually don't follow me in the bag unless i know i'm going to use them. Like a stand(90% of the time i don't use this), and the reflector etc.
