Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on my trip to Malta. Taken on a lovely island Gozo. I had to climb a hill for like 30min to get to the top. Made it exactly for the sunset. Just beautiful.

Time

Sunset time. Late afternoon.

Lighting

I took many photos at the same location, I even packed up my gear to start moving and saw the sun go behind the cloud. That was it. Looked so much better than it was before, so I took out the camera again and this shot was taken.

Equipment

This was shot with my Canon 600D and if I remember correctly, it may have been with the kit lens 18-55 at that moment.

Inspiration

I usually carry my camera with me anywhere I go. This afternoon I did want to be alone, far from people. And there was this hill, I knew from the beginning, I want to be on top of the hill for sunset. The picture is just here to remember this day.

Editing

I had to correct the white balance and raise clarity.

In my camera bag

At that time I used to carry 600D, 18-55mm, 50mm, 24mm, 75-300mm, tripod, flash, etc, like everything with me. Rookie, right ? Now I carry my Fuji X-T2 with 8mm Samyang and Fuji's XF 18-55mm with me. I take the tripod with me only if I go out on late nights knowing I'm going to take some killer shots.

Feedback

To take this kind of shots you clearly must be in a right mindset. Landscape photography takes patience, it took me like 20-30 shots that night to get this exact one.
