Worth the "inconvenience" for sure! Just beautiful... congratulations! (We just got stuck in mud going on a shoot at Granite Falls on the Navajo reservation and met some wonderful, helpful residents with a very nice truck!)

Great to hear these stories of bystanders being friendly and helpful. There is good in the world, as well as beauty!

I am amazed with so much rewards on this picture that you use it in a contest where animals are the subject? ? I might be stupid I do not see any animal here...

Location
I picked up a new (at the time) photography friend to go do some exploring in her neck of the woods about an hours drive north of my place, in South West Saskatchewan Canada.Time
This shot was taken just as the sun had set. It was actually very lucky timing.Lighting
I really like taking photos right after the sun has set. It creates a nice warm light and lends a moodiness to many shots.Equipment
Canon 6D, 24-70 f2.8 L II, Manfrotto Tripod.Inspiration
My friend and I were touring some uncharted territory in the spring after a rain. I drove a bit further into the mud than I should have and became stuck. Luckily for us there was a farm yard about a mile away (only farm in miles and miles, we were "out in the boonies" as we call it up here). We walked to he yard and found a farm hand working in the shop. He grabbed his chains and his truck and pulled us out. He would not take any cash, and then asked us what we like to take pictures of. We told him we were looking for abandoned vehicles and buildings. He pointed us to a junk pile, we found a few things to photograph as the sun was setting. We left that area, and saw this barn just over the next hill. This was not my first composition, but I saw the patterns in the stubble and knew this was going to be my preferred composition.Editing
This is the result of 7 shots bracketed shots taken on a tripod. I loaded 5 of the raw files into photomatix to blend the exposures. I then did some saturation and curve adjustments in photoshop. In my camera bag
I travel with Canon 6D and a 24-70 f/2.8 II as well as 16-35 f/2.8 II lens. I also carry a 7dmkII with 100-400 for any wildlife i might happen across.Feedback
Know your equipment and settings and be ready to act fast. I had about 4 minutes of decent light to take pictures of this barn. When I saw this composition, I only had about a minute to get my shot before it got too dark to shoot.
