Behind The Lens

Location

I was coming home in a car (not driving) and the rain wouldn't stop.

Time

The night was covering the city, the lights of the cars were a like a red traffic army. So I decided to capture that contrast and the rain in one shot.

Lighting

Lights were everywhere, car lights, traffic lights, street lights, etc. Shining and blinking, going and coming, dancing, blurred and distorted by the raindrops.

Equipment

I took this one with my first Nikon, a D5100 and a 50mm f1.8, hand held very close to the windshield.

Inspiration

I was trying to capture the warm glow of the surrounding lights through the rain. I am a rain fan. I love its atmosphere, that rainy mood.

Editing

I just emphasized the saturation a bit to be more accurate compared to what I saw at that very moment.

In my camera bag

I am always with a camera at hand. The one I prefer is my Nikon D750 and the same 50mm lens, with no flashes or tripods.

Feedback

No advices, just be fun, enjoy the moment. Make it yours to let you play and take advantage of it, because sometimes they are gone in a "flash".
