While out on the back roads of West Texas, meandering along the farm roads and looking at the last of the cotton and grain crops before harvest, I was presented with the most spectacular sunset I've seen in some time--the sky absolutely looked on fire. Then came the crop duster, and I was out of my car with the camera. Luckily, as he banked to make his turn, the sun caught his wing just perfectly. This time of year the crop dusters are used to defoliate cotton crops--the leaves must come off the plants so the harvesters can either strip or pick the cotton with massive machines. Farming has become a high-tech operation.
