Pigeon in the Peanuts

Farmer's Markets offer a diverse photo opportunity, but here was something I wasn't expecting. I was concentrating so hard on all the beautiful fruits and vegetables that I nearly missed this little scene--the lady running the booth called my attention to it. Apparently they keep a lamp on the peanuts to keep the peanuts warm in case you want to enjoy them right away--and the pigeons agree mightily with this idea! This little one was very busy bobbing his entire head in and out of the peanuts--and he was so <i&bt;quick<-i&bt;! When I was through taking my pictures, the lady pulled a huge plastic toy air gun out from behind her counter. The pigeon left in a hurry, probably expecting his peanut passion to be short-lived.
