Location
In an apartment I found in Budapest! I liked the decor and it seemed like a great space. I always try to find something interesting with which to work. In this case it was the picture above the model.Time
The entire shoot went from midday until 2 pm.Lighting
I like to work with what's available and I was able to get a fair amount of natural light though a window so I only needed a little fill flash.Equipment
Equipment was pretty basic. My camera was a LUMIX gh4 with a 14-45mm lense. With a little use of a portable flash from Yongnuo.Inspiration
I was initially inspired by a contest here on Viewbug that had the theme of "Everyday things" and I thought the use of rope or string would be interesting especially as it's so versatile. The idea evolved during the course of the shoot and I feel we conveyed a sense of spontaneity with the use of the love heart, her obvious freedom of movement despite her hands being loosely bound, and with the blending of the floor and picture with the wall.Editing
I did do some post work on this photo. The space we used was a little smaller than we would have liked and there was a couch on her right. While removing the couch I ended up blending the floor with the wall and really liked the feel of it. I did something similar with the picture on the wall, too.In my camera bag
I'm always out and about, so try to move as light as possible. I carry a Lumix gh4 with 15-45, 100-300mm lenses and 60mm macro lense from Olympus. I also carry a gorillapod in case I need to leave my tripod behind.Feedback
While some models like to know exactly what it is that you want, I think it's important not to get too focused on any specific concept as shoots can evolve and the ideas change. I have often realised that somethings won't work or won't work with a particular model. It's important to have options so I always ask models to bring several changes of clothes and shoes, or anything that could be interesting. And of course have fun!
