Location
This photo was taken in our Studio in Hanover, Germany. It offers a great natural lighting, so it's fun to work there.Time
We start around 11 a.m. and this photo was taken just a few minutes after we've started.Lighting
It's just natural light from a big window behind me. To brighten the lower parts of her face and neck, I used a white surfaced bouncer.Equipment
Just my D700 with the AF-S Nikkor 85mm f/1.8G – my very favourite lens.Inspiration
It's part of a series with natural light portraits, all taken nearly under same conditions. I love, when the model looks straight up to the viewer of the photo.Editing
I'm using a special Lightroom Preset set with a W/B around 4200 Kelvin and some settings like a soft vignette. The post-processing was done in Photoshop, the B/W-Conversion with Alienskin Expression. In my camera bag
Two Bodes (D810, D700), a nifty fifty (AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G), my favourite lens, the AF-S 85mm f/1.8G and a Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM A. Other things that you do not like to forget: Rocket Blower, Clams, etc.Feedback
Avoid direct sunlight, ensure your Model will become the brightest part of the photo, don't be afraid to shoot portraits wide open, underexpose your image (not too much – there need to be enough details in her/his eyes).
