Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in Plymouth Collage of Art's Studio. Is part of my first year work towards my degree.

Time

The image was taken some time in the afternoon and was part of a group of images taken while practicing a hollywood lighting set up.

Lighting

I used Hollywood style lighting as I love the lighting and beauty of the era.

Equipment

The image was shot using Elinchrom Flash Heads x4. shot handheld.

Inspiration

Hollywood images of the 40s and 50s.

Editing

Very little, dodge and burning to increase or decrease shadows enhance the jaw line.

In my camera bag

Nikon D610. Nikon %0mm Prime and a sigma 70 200mm 2.8.

Feedback

Research hollywood lighting and check out some of the old 40s and 50s movies. This was the era of contrasting shadows. However, the harsh light can be very unattractive on females. Play with different lighting angles to remove as many lines as possible and have the key light high.
