My daughter Freya had a day off from school one day... so we decided to have a tea party in the back yard near our fig tree... lucky for us her 2 cats Ginger and Cheetah were happy to join us!Time
It was taken at around 1pm on a gorgeous very warm winter day...Lighting
Although it was a beautiful sunny day.. I decided to add a flare filter on the top right corner... which lead the eye to the tea pot and Ginger cat. . It gives it a dreamy fairy tale feel. Which I love and although our cats are just domestic pets it looks as though they've been trained at an ettiCAT school.. he he it was just a fluke that they were so compliant... Also we used my deceased mother's vintage tea set which I love and holds great sentiment to me.Equipment
That day I was using my Canon 10D with a standard 50ml lens.. however for this picture I had to quickly move so that the cats don't run away so I took some quick snaps on my Samsung Galaxy 5 phone.... i wasnt to know then that this would be the most interesting picture????Inspiration
My daughter and i love to play dress ups... she loves Drama and to act... i love everything vintage and theatrical... so i love it when a picture creates a story... rather than having a perfectly technically lit shot. I've been told by friends that it reminds them of Alice in Wonderland... However that wasn't my intention... we were just having fun on a day off from school.Editing
Just adding a set flair filter that is an editing tools on the Samsung Galaxy 5.In my camera bag
Canon 10D 50-80mm lense Not alot as i dont have a lot of money to spend on my passion as a sole parent.Feedback
I think everyone has they're own unique touch and style to picture taking... I'm a little whimsical and candid when I take pictures.... i love to create a feeling, emotion or story rather than focusing on technicalities. Being authentic to your own nature I feel is alot more interesting than trying to copy or follow someone else's craft... oh and when capturing people I tend to spend some time with them first to get a sense of their unique qualities????
