Behind The Lens

Location

A city suburb, this car was parked on the Street. It was red with a white roof. It's my favourite vintage car. I rang the doorbell and asked the driver if she could drive it up and down for me so I could get my panning shot. She happily obliged.

Time

It was around 4 in the afternoon on a Spring day. There were lots of huge fig trees linning the streets so there was alot of shade. I love how the background has been distorted.

Lighting

Natural light, no flash, lots of dappled shade and a stream of sunlight. The white rectangle in the top of the pic was actually a tiny parking sign on a pole.

Equipment

Film Camera, Canon.

Inspiration

The brief for my assignment was to create a shot that showed an affective use of movement while panning.

Editing

I developed the film and picture myself, in my own darkroom at the time.

In my camera bag

Canon Film camera back then, which is why the photo turned out grainy which I love.
