Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on the Grand Mesa, out side of the town of Mesa, Colorado. I went with a friend that also enjoys photography.

Time

My friend and I took a drive and hiked a small trail, that led us to this old section of fence in the middle of this picturesque meadow, this was late morning and the sky was a little over cast.

Lighting

The sky was a little overcast, but there was sun shining through the clouds to our east. The fall colors were very vibrant.

Equipment

I used a Nikon COOLPIX L110, my very first digital camera. Nothing else was used

Inspiration

Coming out of the trees from a small game trail, the beautiful meadow with the lonely piece of old fence just caught my eye. I just snapped the picture and went on my way.

Editing

I believe I just cropped the image, as I was pretty much editing illiterate.

In my camera bag

At the time I took this photo I just had my trusty Nikon COOL PIX L110. Now I do carry a tripod and a couple of lenses, a Nikon D5100 camera and that's about it.

Feedback

The fall colors on top of the Mesa are one of the most beautiful sights one can behold, I would advise anyone to just take a road trip and capture what beauty they see in front of them.
