very powerful self portrait, and statement. In your processing, I would like to see the eyes a little less touched up, because everything screams crying, except the whites of the eyes. I am not sure what Ana's image was, but you are a bold and justly contender. Bravo!

Location
I took this photo on the floor of my bedroom, it was rather uncomfortable. But only being 14 years old I didn't have any other places to shoot. Also, the fact that I have a small bedroom didn't make the situation any easier.Time
This photo was shot sometime in the evening when the sun was setting behind the thick clouds. I shot at this time of day because it helped to capture the desolate mood I was looking for.Lighting
Although I liked the mood my photo had when I shot it in the dark, there was also many disadvantages. Most of my problems were solved after I set up a little studio that consisted of a reflector and a mirror. As you can see my amount of photophy gear is very small considering I'm not old enough to get a job to buy my own photography equipment.Equipment
My equipment consisted of my Canon 60D camera, a Canon 18-55mm kit lens (yes, I know, I need to invest in some different lens), and a tripod.Inspiration
I wanted to capture a picture of myself but I didn't want it to just be a normal portrait. My goal was to show something about myself but at the same time I wanted it to be sad and eerie feeling. Since my eating disorder (anorexia) had consumed most of my life, I figured it would make the perfect photo to share something about myself.Editing
No, I did not use any postprocessing. I have yet to expand my knowledge on it though and hopefully one day I will have it mastered. In my camera bag
In my rather small bag I usually carry my camera, kit lens, telephoto lens, macro extension, tripod, and common essentials like lens cleaner.Feedback
Honestly, I don't have any advice to give camera setting wise because being an amateur I still have a lot to learn and practice. But for people who are looking to capture an image that tells something about yourself, make sure you take EVERYTHING into consideration. If you're a carefree person who's usually in high spirits, you'll want your image to convey that. This can be achieved by taking your photo in bright and cheerful lighting, using props that make you feel this way, or anything really. Just as long as your photo captured the type of mood you wanted it to.
