Superb capture - I read you previous comment - maybe explains the deep focus seen in his eyes

Location
I took this photo at an event that takes place every sunday in Montreal at the TamTams gathering on Mount-Royal MountainTime
it was late in the afternoon, the sun started to go down, then i saw a group of musician gathered in circle and they seem to look all in the center following the rythm of this man, when the people split i was close enough and he look up straight in my lens and i took the shotLighting
I use natural lighting all the time for my shootings.Equipment
Camera: NIKON D5200 Aperture: f/1.8 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 10/2000 Focal Length: 850/10 no tripod, neither flashed, candid shotInspiration
The complete devotion to his music and almost trancendal look in his eyes, his immense beauty in the present momentt, detached from all thinking and suffering. This man suffers from schizophrenia, and people told me that when he plays the drum and concentrate on the rythm and the sound of them, it calms down the voices in his head and he feels freeEditing
i added a post processed Infrared filter that i use sometimes to convert pictures in black and white, sometimes the contrasts are more intererting than just a regular B&W conversionIn my camera bag
Now i have a Nikon D700 with a 50mm 1.8D lensFeedback
The secret lies in the emotion sensibility of the moment captured, the capacity to anticipate a moment filled with emotion, the composition should take place naturaly but i do not accord to much importance to technical and academic requirements to a ''perfect photo'' ... i totally commit to capture as much as emotion that i can, the push the button at that precise moment where my heart skip a beat for what i am witnessing before my eyes.
