Location
This image was taken in the rocky mountains of Alberta Canada.Time
I went into the mountains to search for the wild horses when I came upon this family unit consisting of stallion, mare and foal. I was lucky enough to catch them feeding in an open patch of grasses at about mid afternoon.Lighting
Sometimes when you spot animal you don't always get to choose what kind of light to shoot in but I was happy that they were not deep in the woods and the sun was not at it's harshest.Equipment
I had my Sigma 150-500mm on my Nikon D800 and because vehicles can act as a blind, I shot with the lens resting on a piece of foam out of the open window.Inspiration
My inspiration is as simple as loving natures beauty, be it animal or landscape.Editing
After doing some minor adjustments in ACR I brought it into PS where I cropped it.In my camera bag
I like to carry my Sigma 150-500mm attached to my Nikon D800 body and my Nikon 50mm 1.4 lens.Feedback
I like to look for wildlife in the mornings or evenings when there is a better chance that they will be out feeding.
