You have taken something solid and made it look beyond real. A wonderful shot.

Surprised to read that this is in Germany and not Easter Island! Beautiful capture with the just hitting the moia. Congratulations on being a finalist!

Location
This photo was taken in a small park with a few sculptures at the river Ruhr in Germany.Time
It was a foggy autumn day and I want to capture the moody river, the meadows around and the great colorful sky. Essentially I wanted to make a long exposure capture of the early morning mist.Lighting
The lightning was really easy and unspectacular. The sun was not so high at the sky and the light was wonderful. As a consequence that the sun was not very bright and, there were very nice shadows on the ground from the trees, sculptures and grasses.Equipment
This shot was captured handheld with my full frame Nikon D800 and a Nikkor 28-300mm lens at 70mm.Inspiration
Nearly every day I past this place for many years in the morning and late afternoon. Every day I saw this sculpture and considered when and how to shoot this wonderful place. At daytime it looks very pretty and nice there but there is something missing right down to the last detail. I always try to put something new in my shots, and also I constantly search for a new angle and new perspectives.Editing
I do post processing on every photo to add some unique artistic flare to my photographs. I use Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC for my post processing. In this case I have to made some regular adjustments in Lightroom. In Photoshop I have done some subtle enhancement that I couldn’t easily achieve in Lightroom. Among other things there were branches of a tree on the right, which have distracted from the main subject. In my camera bag
Normally I have my full equipment in my bag. The full frame Nikon D800, a Nikkor 28-300mm lens, a Nikkor 105mm macro lens, a Nikkor 50mm lens and sometimes I have the opportunity to use a Nikkor 14-24mm lens. Additionally I have a travel tripod, a cable release and some filters in my bag.Feedback
If you have no specific concept, be prepared for anything. Find places close to home that you can visit often to find out the best conditions and the perfect daytime. Search for new angles and new perspectives. I'm an amateur photographer and I'm travelling with my family as often as we can. For my family, it is sometimes a little bit stressful because I use almost every free moment to look for subjects and the perfect shot. Sometimes it is a little bit frightening for my daughters to see me lying on the floor to capture the things around me. Keep your eyes peeled and look for new things. Be creative.
