Location
This photo was taken in Kings Mountain (NC) National Military Park. I actually took it while I was driving, out the front window of the car. Driving slow, no other drivers around!!!!Time
afternoon drive in the fall looking for great leaf color.Lighting
the afternoon sun/shaded area made the fall colors pop. I have found the morning, evening and cloudy days are the best for me.Equipment
shot with a Canon 70D, 100 ISO, 55 mm lens, f/45. Did not use tripod or flash. Shot while car was moving so I was very pleased with outcome.Inspiration
Kings Mountain National Military Park was established in 1930 and run initially by the War Department. Kings Mountain NMP is one of the largest National Military Parks, at nearly 4,000 acres, it is one of two Revolutionary War National Military Parks. I has beautiful winding roads and this particular day the leaves were bright with color. I probably took 50+ shots of the trees, color, roadway.Editing
I have to confess I used Light room and Smart Editor to enhance the color, clean up spots/blemishes.In my camera bag
I have my camera with me at all times...I use a Canon 70D, 3 Lens EFS 18-55mm, EFS 55-250mm and a 70-300. Tripod in back seat which I use occasionally. I am purely amateur and will try different lens for the same shot. I'm finding I prefer the 18-55 and 55-250mm.Feedback
All my shots are taking in my home state of North Carolina with the most taking in my small town, surrounded towns and back yard. Landscapes for me work better with the 18-55 and 55-250mm lens I am an amateur and self taught and take 100s of shots using mostly Auto or manual modes. Once home I down load to my computer to pick out the ones I think are good and go from there.
