Location
This photo was taken in Blue River, Colorado just outside of Breckenridge. We were staying in the family cabin for the weekend and decided to take a walk thru the neighborhood. My daughter, not quite 3 at the time, really wanted to be the one to walk Hodge, our 100+ lb Chesapeake Retriever.Time
This is one of my favorite images from that walk. It was mid morning and had just started to lightly snow. It was still bright out enough but with the cloud cover made for a perfect picture taking day.Lighting
The right amount of sun and clouds made this perfect lighting. I didn't have to do much but be in the right place to take the photo.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D3200, and a Tamron 16-300mm lens.Inspiration
My kids have always inspired my photography and I try to take as many photos of them as possible. This one especially because our dog is so much larger than her.Editing
I use Adobe Lightroom to edit most of my photos. With this one I adjusted the white balance and tone just a bit. The day was really meant for taking pictures.In my camera bag

Just be prepared for anything, especially with kids and pets. You never know when they will make for a memorable moment. I always shoot bursts of photos as the expression on my daughter's face changes every second.
