I decided to get up at 2 AM and drive to the Oregon Coast to take photos of the Milky Way during the Lyrid Meteor Shower on a rare cloudless night here in Oregon. Alas, I found myself on the beach at Hug Point State Park - alone and in awe of the roaring ocean and dark skies above. There is likely nothing more surreal than this experience - pitch black with an expanse of water both making you feel very very small. Living this close to the ocean is pretty great!
