I decided to do something creative this week and work on this panoramic photograph of the Milky Way arching over to Mount Hood above Government Camp. I created a spiral over the mountain to give the effect of a black hole pulling in matter at the edge of our galaxy. I'm sure it would look totally different in real life (and it won't happen in any of our lifetimes), but I figured I'd give it a shot! I look forward to playing more with similar techniques in the future.

I used the awesome script from Sathya Narayanan to make the vortex and then blended it back into a version of my original panoramic photo.
