This photo was taken at my Mom’s. This was her cat who my Grandfather named Kitten. I’m a self taught photographer so every shot is a new lesson for me.Time
This is one of my favorite images of Kitten. I went home for a visit and was playing with the cat when she laid back and looked at me. I didn’t have a tripod I just tried to keep my hands steady and balanced.Lighting
I wanted to draw viewers into this image. The markings of the cat are beautiful and her eyes I feel really draw you in. This image was taken with natural lighting with the help of the porch roof for some shading.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon T3i with a 18-55 mm f/3.5 lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
I wanted to try doing macro shots and mix it with an animal. I had not tried to do a macro shot before this so it was a new self taught lesson.Editing
For this shot I fixed some of the colors of the cat and sharpened the look of her fur and eyes just a little. In my camera bag
I always have both my canon T6 and T3i with the 18-55mm, 70-300mm lenses. I also have my filters with me for any glare and I usually take my tripod in case I need it.Feedback
With any animal you have to be patient. Sometimes you don’t get that perfect shot the first time. This shot took me several to get. Never give up!
