At 18 years old I was able to have a mail-order catalogue and ordered a camera. It was a 35mm Praktica compact, and cost me around £70 - a lot of money in those days (it was 1986). This is one of my favourite shots I took with it - this photo is now over 30 years old, and shows the weir in Miller's Dale, Derbyshire.

The weir in Miller's Dale, Derbyshire. Taken with my old Praktica 35mm compact about 30 years ago.

I think from the lower angle like this is makes the weir appear higher than it really is.
