Papplewick Dam on the River Leen, Nottinghamshire, UK. February 2016.
I literally stumbled upon this weir whilst out walking with the dog, until then I didn't know the weir even existed.
The photo posed a minor challenge; although I had a variable ND filter with me, (just in case...) the only tripod I had was a cheap octopod-gorillapod copy (I'd left my tall tripod at home to save weight - after all my intention was a walk, not a photo shoot).
I improvised by wedging my walking pole between some tree branches to use as a support for the generic gorillapod-octopod copy, and my camera mounted on the pod.
