Shot after sunset on the lava fields a few miles south of Kalapana, Hi. While attempting to capture lava trails using a long exposure, a pair of hikers walked into the frame, one of them paused briefly before moving along creating the silhouette. The blurred shadows are a result of their combined movements while the shutter was open. Nothing has been added to this single exposure image, I did remove a small light trail from one of their headlamps in post. Un-cropped with only adjustments to contrast, color and noise. Best viewed "on black".

I would not have gone alone, it's a very dangerous place. We had a very good native guide who kept us safe. Thanks for the kind words!

Now this is a superb shot. It must have been pretty spectacular to see. Great movement with the person in the distance.

Outstanding image, we go to Hawaii at least once a year and next year to Big Island. How did you find a guide?
