Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my front yard. It holds special meaning for me due to two things. First, the tree is a willow that my dad planted two years before he passed away. I feel honored to have this loving memorial at the edge of my patio. The second is because it's my now deceased companion, Diesel. He was my constant shadow for 10 years. Whenever I looked up from a task, there he was, keeping watch.

Time

This shot was late in the afternoon. Diesel and I had been working in the yard all day and had just played a bit of frisbee. What isn't in the shot is the frisbee he had laid at the base of the tree before peaking around the tree to see if I was still willing to play.

Lighting

The lighting was a time of day I love to capture. Just before sunset as you start to get the gold's and oranges.

Equipment

The equipment used was a Canon dslr kit camera.

Inspiration

I wanted to capture Diesel's gentle spirit. That gentleness and his ever watchful gaze were two of his most endearing qualities.

Editing

No post processing other than a little cropping.

In my camera bag

My Canon dslr with two kit lenses.

Feedback

Photograph what you love. Forced photos never seem to convey your passion.
