A really nice coloured sunset. Not to soft not to harsh. Just good balance. Great job Dorothy!!!

Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo from the roadside near interstate 90 in North Idaho.Time
It was early evening. During the evening commute.Lighting
The lighting is all natural.Equipment
Used my Canon T1i with a 55 mm lens setting.Inspiration
The same two things inspire me to take any picture. First my dad who taught me to appreciate the world around me. And second, my youngest son who has severe tunnel vision. When we first found out about his vision, I felt angry and put my camera away. I felt some type of guilt for being able to see and take pictures of everything I could see. He told me one day that the only way he can see the "whole picture" was for me to capture it with my camera and show it to him on a computer screen. From that day on, I have found my passion for photography again. And just the other day, he showed me a picture of a lake at sunset and said "look, my mom taught me well". Even with his limited vision, he captured a beautiful scene with his cell phone.Editing
I enhanced the saturation just slightly using Picasa. I try to leave pictures as natural as possible. God painted the picture, far be it for me to try and change His perfection. In my camera bag
My camera and two lenses are all I keep in my bag. A Canon Rebel T3i and the kit lenses that came with it. I am working on building up to more high quality lenses but for now I just have the basics.Feedback
Focus on what pleases your eye and your senses. This is art, it's all in the eye of the beholder. Practice and don't be afraid to play with your camera settings. Find your passion!!!!!
