This is just beautiful!! I've never seen a waterfall quite like it! To me it kind of looks like a couple of faces are looking down upon it! I must find this spot! Is it a very long hike?

Such an amazing vision to have seen. If given various vantage points from which to shoot, you chose well!
Thank you for bringing this for all to see. As a recently disabled avid hiker, I'll never get to see such beauty... though those of a less strenuous hike.... I'll be there some how.

Location
Like most of my work, this was taken in Western Colorado. There's no trail to this particular spot, but I got a tip and did some exploring!Time
Since I didn't know the orientation of the falls, I couldn't plan for light at a particular time of day.Lighting
The sky was overcast, which allowed for long exposure shots and few strong shadows.Equipment
My current bodies are 70D models, and I believe I used the 18-135 kit lens, which is quite capable for daytime work.Inspiration
I love to explore the wilderness, and rarely visit the tourist destinations anymore. Usually I find my own views, but this tip was too good to miss! I even returned in the middle of winter to shoot the frozen version.Editing
I rarely do much more than tweak exposure and shadows, and this was no exception. In my camera bag
I try to pack for the type of views I expect to have in the day ahead, and so avoid lens changes in the field. With two bodies, I can have two options ready to use. I always have spares and cleaning tools with me, and enough protection to endure the worst of Colorado's weather.Feedback
Don't get too excited when you reach your objective for the day. It's easy to find yourself taking tourist snapshots instead of looking for the best angles and composition. Take your time, get the shot and don't get hurt in the process!
