Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at the Des Moines Marina in Des Moines, Washington.

Time

My daughter and I often watched the sunset on Puget Sound many evenings. I had taken shots of the same view over a few months but this time a seagull had decided to roast on the archway at the far end of the pier. Between the silhouette of the bird and pier and the bright colors behind it, this has to be one of my favorite photos

Lighting

The lighting is all-natural, after all, who could improve on Mother Nature

Equipment

The camera I had at that time was a Fujifilm and I used nothing special to capture the shot.

Inspiration

Sunsets have always been a time to reflect on the day for me. A time to connect with Mother Nature.

Editing

I don't do anything with my photos. I like them to be as raw and pure as possible.

In my camera bag

I no longer have a camera but when this was taken I have my camera, extra batteries, and a couple of extra sd cards

Feedback

Patience and finding the right spot is what worked for me on this shot. That and having taken a couple of hundred shots at the same location over a 3 year period.
