Beautifully captured and processed shot. :) Looks like a cover of a fairy-tale book. Just a fairy or two on those branches, and we are set. :)

Lovely!

The great contrast on the oak branches along with the oak highlights separate so well against the low contrast sky. It is a great full tonal range with tons of details and textures.

Behind The Lens

Location
I took this photo in Pleasanton, CA, at a little park that used to be a dairy farm. It was my birthday, and my mom took me out shooting.
Time
It was probably the middle of the day.
Lighting
The light was just all natural.
Equipment
I think I might have still had my Canon Rebel XT back when I took this. And I was using a Tamron lens, 28-80mm. No flash or tripod were used.
Inspiration
I absolutely love oak trees! And as I was walking around shooting, I looked up a bit and saw that the branches of this one tree were making the most beautiful shapes and design!
Editing
This image actually just sat in my files for about a year and a half! I tried once or twice to do something with it in that time, but was never satisfied. Then one day I pulled it up again, and all I did was convert it to black and white in Photoshop, and I loved it! And that was that!
In my camera bag
I try to carry as little as possible when I'm out shooting. I usually have my Canon 5D Mark II, with my Canon 24-105mm L series lens attached, a handful of filters (circular polarizer, UV, and neutral density), a remote trigger, a couple of extra memory cards, and a couple of spare batteries.
Feedback
Don't forget to look up!!
