Location
I made this photograph in the back alleyways in Dublin, Ireland.Time
The morning was stormy. People were out going to work on the main thoroughfares. I like to explore the off beaten paths and have found most interesting photographs to make. With the rain coming down and squatting down, I made this photo at 9:21am.Lighting
Storm light is beautiful and adds much to mode and drama when seen correctly. In this photograph the light enveloped the subject. The puddles reflected the ambience, and the rain darkened the buildings and the cobblestones.Equipment
Simplicity. I made this image using a Rollie point n shoot 35mm film camera. It not the equipment, it's the heart of the photographer that counts.Inspiration
The stormy day inspired me to make photos that dipict Ireland's sense of placeEditing
I scanned the film roll. Post was most likely rotating the image and darkening the overall ambient light. In my camera bag
Usually, I love to take my 4x5 film camera with me. In addition, I use a Pentax 6x7 for infrared photography, and a Nikon D850 for digital files. I also use my Google Pixel 4.Feedback
My advice is get up early, stay out late, and work when others will not work (i.e. in this case rain).
